Uppinangady: Robbers attempt to burgle house by removing roof tiles

Uppinangady: An unsuccessful house robbery attempt took place at Janata Colony at Tannerupanta village in Belthangady taluk on Friday night.
The residents of the house were sleeping when the robbers tried to enter the house by removing its roof’s tiles.
While they were removing the tiles one of the wooden beam broke, the sound of which woke up the residents.
When a woman in the house switched on the light and shouted for help, the robbers escaped.
Uppinangady police officials visited the spot and inspected it.
Robberies have been reported from many surrounding areas here such as Karaya, Kalleri, Kuppetti, Turkalikey, etc., for the past few days. Despite police complaints, robbery attempts have not stopped.
