Uprooted banyan tree kills labourer in Melkar

Bantwal: A labourer died and another suffered injuries after a huge banyan tree got uprooted by the combination of heavy rain and winds on Wednesday, June 20th.
The deceased has been identified as Ramsevak (36) originally from Uttar Pradesh and the injured was identified as Dilip.
According to sources, Ramsevak and Dilip were involved In making articles from cement beneath the banyan tree. The rough weather suddenly brought down the tree on them. Both of them suffered injuries and were rushed to the hospital, but Ramsevek lost his battle for life.
Immediate measures were taken to clear the uprooted tree after the police and fire personnel rushed to the spot.
