UPSC result announced: Hubballi youth bags 17th rank

Hubballi: Rahul Sharanappa Shankanur from Hubballi secured 17th rank in the prestigious civil service final examination of the year 2018.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday declared the final results of the Civil Services or Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Forest Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ examinations. Rahul Sharanappa Shankanur is top rank holder among the candidates selected from the state, while Lakshmi N has bagged the 45th rank.
Rahul is nephew of MLC SV Sankanur an is a BE graduate in electronics and communications from RV College of Engineering. After working in an MNC for a year, he availed coaching in Delhi.
This was his third attempt at cracking the civil services exams, informed sources.
Addressing presspersons he said that it was his grandfather VP Sankanur’s dream to see one of his grandsons as an IAS officer.
Apart from Rahul and Lakshmi other two candidates Akash S (78) and Kruthika (100) from the state secured within 100 ranks.
Other candidates from the state who passed the examination and their ranks : Koushik H R (240), Vivek H B (257), Niveditha S Balaraddiyavar (303), Girish Dharmaraj Kalagond (307), Mirza Qadir Baig (336), Thejas U P (338), Harshavardana B J (352), Pakkiresh Kallappa Badami (372), Nagarjun B Gowda (418), Ashwija B V (423), Manjunath R (495), Brinda S (496), Hemanth N (612), Shruthi M K (637), Venkatram (694), Ashok Kumar S (711), Ragavendra N (739), Santhosha H (753) and Shashikiran S (754).
