Bengaluru: A police sub-inspector attached to the City Armed Reserve (South) allegedly committed suicide in his office godown in Adugodi on Saturday night.
58-year-old Dayananda Sagar was driven to such an extreme due to his son’s disappearance. His suicide note read, “Nobody is responsible for my death. My younger son Ganesh left home four months ago and never returned. I am not able to bear this pain and decided to commit suicide.”
Sagar had been deployed for bundobust at JD(S) leader H.D. Deve Gowda’s residence on Saturday. After his duty, he went to CAR by evening, but did not return to his residence at Jayanagar. His elder son could not reach him through the phone and hence, rushed to CAR ground at around 11 pm. He found his father’s bike near the godown and later, found him hanging.
Sagar’s younger son Ganesh was running a tea stall in Jayanagar and had received an earful from Sagar since he was not serious about his business. Upset by this, Ganesh left his home in February and never returned. He could not be traced as well.
