Urwa police arrest chain snatcher, recover Rs 12 lakh worth stolen ornaments

Mangaluru: Urwa police on Thursday arrested a 27-year-old youth on charges of chain snatching and recovered around 300 grams of gold ornaments from him.
The arrested identified as Vinay Prasad alias Vinod Jogi, a resident of Badaga Ulipady is said to have been involved in more than 10 cases of chain snatching.
The value of the seized gold is estimated at around Rs 12 lakh. The police also confiscated a bike and an auto-rickshaw found in his possession.
Jogi faces five cases in Urwa police station limits, two within Kavoor station limits and one each under Barke Police Station, Kadri Police Station and Kankanady Police Station.
