Urwa police raid gambling den in commercial complex, 9 arrested

Mangaluru: Acting on credible information the Urwa police led by inspector Maruthi G Nayak, under the guidance of Mangaluru sub-division ACP Bhaskar Okkaliga arrested nine persons involved in gambling activities at a commercial complex in Karangalpadi here on Sunday, February 10.

The arrested have been identified as Ashok Shetty (49), a resident of Padukodi village, Anand (49) of Derebail Prashant Nagar, Rajshekhar Bend Raj (46), of Jappinimogaru, Tilak Raj (33)  af Mulki Lingappayya forest, Sharat Kumar (37) of Derebail, Nilappa Bhimappa Mate (30), Sajid Ahmed (48) of Kulashekhar, Jivan Kumar (59) of Karangalpadi and Suraj Thimmappa Pujari (42).

Police confiscated  11 mobile phones, 1 Baleno car, two Activa scooter, one bike and Rs  68,140 in cash totally valuing around Rs. 10.93 lakh from their possession.

A case has been registered at Urwa police station in this regard.
