Lottery refers to a scenario in which the success or outcome is determined solely by chance. However, there have been many cases where overwhelming luck has overshadowed the true intent of the lottery.
Recently, a man from Virginia struck it rich. Not once, twice, or three times, but twenty times.
According to the Virginia Lottery, William Newell of Alexandria purchased 20 identical lottery tickets for the same lottery drawing and won all 20 of them, netting a total prize of $100,000. (about Rs 74 lakh).
Newell told officials that he regularly buys his lottery tickets from a neighboring business. On this occasion, though, he purchased all 20 online for the first time on October 23.
Newell purchased 20 identical tickets for the Pick 4 drawing, according to UPI.
The numbers 5-4-1-1 were chosen by Newell. And when he compared them to the ones drawn by the officials, the result was the same. For each ticket, he received $5,000.
A year ago, something similar happened to another man from Virginia.
After buying 25 identical lottery tickets for the same drawing and winning 25 times, Raymond Harrington increased his wealth by $1,25,000.
Harrington went to a Wegnam’s store in Virginia Beach and purchased 25 $1 tickets for the Virginia Lottery’s ‘Pick 4’ drawing on July 17th. Harrington was caught aback when the findings were announced. His winning numbers were found on all 25 of his tickets.
