US department of defence has authorised the release of three unclassified Navy videos that show Navy pilots encountering what appear to be unidentified flying objects.
The videos depicting “unexplained aerial phenomena”, were previously leaked, with some believing they show alien unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
The statement issued by Department of defence said that the “previously acknowledged” videos were Navy video
“DOD is releasing (videos) in order to clear up the misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage as real. The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterised as ‘unidentified’,” the statement read.
The video taken from 2004 was recorded off the coast of southern California while the other two were caught by F-18 pilots operating off the Atlantic Coast in January 2015. The videos first became public after being leaked in 2007 and 2017 and the Navy had verified their authenticity in September last year.
