Use cVigil app to register poll related complaints: DC

Mangaluru: cVigil app will be introduced by the election commission ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019, informed deputy commissioner (DC) Sasikanth Senthil addressing the media here on Sunday February 24th.
“cVigil app is a people friendly app where public can register the complaint in case of any violation of code of conduct. Cases will be taken through this app. A special flying squad will be deployed to visit the spot within 10 minutes and complaint will be probed and addressed within 100 minutes,” said the DC.
Voters list
“There have been continuous efforts made to update the voters’ list. We are also focusing on young voters aged around 18 to 19 to get enrolled in the voters’ list. There is mind set among people that if you have voter ID, you can vote. But they should also be aware that if their name exists in the voters’ list. To find out their names in the voters’ list, public can contact booth level officers or can log on to www.http://ceokarnataka.kar.nic.in/.” informe the DC.
SVEEP campaign
“To create awareness about VVPAT and EVM, six teams will be formed and will visit polling stations to educate voters about VVPAT and EVM. There are less number of voting percentage in city areas. Hence, in order to encourage public to vote, SWEEP campaign to take place,” said Mr Senthil.
“As per January 16, there are 16,97,417 voters in Dakshina Kannada district out of which 8,33,719 are males and 8,63,698 are females. As many as 21,292 young voters have enrolled as per January 16 and as many as 1,971 applications of young voters have been received which will be analysed and enrolled.,” he said.
“During a special drive conducted on February 23, as many as 1,815 forms were received under form number 6, 785 forms received under form number 7, 493 received under form number 8 and 4 applications under form no 8A,” he added.
