UT Khader visits relief camp at Sullia

Sullia: Urban Development and the District In-Charge Minister of Dakshina Kannada U T Khader visited the relief camps for people affected by the floods and landslides and interacted with the victims on Saturday, September 29th.
People of Jodupala and Monnangeri II which suffered the worst of flood and landslide of the affected areas of Kodagu district were evacuated and provided with necessary amenities at the Kallugundi and Kodagu – Sampaje relief camps.
Permanent housing facility
The victims informed the minister that they were residing in the relief camps from past 43 days and asked him on when they would be provided with permanent housing facility.
“Permanent housing facility will be initiated for those whose houses have been completely devastated. Some of the victims’ houses are not suitable to be built in the same location. For such people, land will be allotted elsewhere and houses will be constructed”, answered the minister.
“The model houses as assured to the victims are already underway. The government is committed to solving all the problems of the flood hit families, “he added.
Mr Khader had a brief talk with the victims and analyzing their needs, ordered the officials immediately to sort out the issues related to LPG gas supply and other problems.
