Mangaluru: Congress MLA UT Khader on Saturday, May 16 criticised the Rs 20 lakh crore economic package announced by Prime Minister Modi saying that the government has only doled out credit schemes.
Reacting to the economic package Khader said that there has doled out credit schemes but not offered waiver of interest for farmers who have been affected due to the lockdown.
Taking a jibe at the Rs 15 lakh deposit assurance made by PM Modi, Khader said that in the=is time of crisis the government can at least deposit Rs 15,000 to bank accounts of individuals.
On relief package announced by the chief minister BS Yediyurappa for fishermen and weavers, Khader said that it was only repeat announcement and not a new scheme.
Pointing out to the number of repatriation flights arriving in Kerala’s Kannur airport, Khader said that only one flight has arrived in Mangaluru that too due to efforts of union minister D V Sadananda Gowda. MP Kateel should be striving to arrange for flight arrivals in Mangaluru but unfortunately he is busy doing the work of a corporator by distributing ration kits.
