Uttar Pradesh: Three elderly woman administered rabies shot instead of COVID-19

Three elderly women were allegedly administered rabies vaccines instead of the COVID-19 vaccine in Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh district.
The incident occurred at a Covid Vaccination Centre at Community Health Centre (CHC) at Kandhla in Shamli district on April 8.
The incident came to light when one of the women complained of dizziness and was taken to a private hospital where the doctors examined the prescription issued by the CHC and were shocked to find that she was given shots of rabies vaccine.
Deccan Herald reports that the health workers who administered the rabies vaccine and said that they couldn’t differentiate between the two vaccines.
Talking about this blunder, the chief medical officer of the district said, “We will take stern action against the lax health workers.”
