Uttarakhand floods: Rescue operation halted as water level rises in Rishiganga

Chamoli: Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar on Thursday said that the rescue operation in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district has been temporarily halted due to a rise in the level of water in Rishiganga river.
It is said that the water level in the river is rising and people living in nearby areas are being alerted.
“Orders have been given to vacate the areas downstream,” he stated, requesting people to remain alert and not panic.
