Udayavani had launched a campaign on February 3 on the policy of the State government contradicting the guidelines of the Centre allowing 100 per cent occupancy in movie theatres.

Actor Dhruva Sarja had tweeted the poster of the campaign and many in the film industry too pressed the government through social networking websites to allow full audience occupancy in movie theatres.

The government finally buckled under pressure and has instructed the authorities to create a new guideline for operations of movie theatres.

Speaking on the issue Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar said that he has directed officials to change the guidelines as well as precautionary measures to be undertaken. Adding that the new guidelines will be issued by the State government tomorrow (February 4).
