Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel met with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in New Delhi to advocate for the introduction of a new Vande Bharat Express train service connecting Mangaluru to Goa.

During their meeting, MP Kateel revealed that Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had given his assurance that a new Vande Bharat Express train service would be launched between Mangaluru and Goa, with an expected commencement date set for the end of October.

One notable aspect of the discussion was the MP’s request to the Railway Minister not to entertain the proposal put forth by Keralites to extend the Bengaluru Kannur train to Cochin under any circumstances. Minister Vaishnav unequivocally affirmed his stance, stating that he would not entertain such a proposal.

Furthermore, the meeting resulted in a consensus to introduce a passenger train service running from Subrahmanya Road to Mangaluru every morning, with a complementary service from Mangaluru to Subrahmanya in the evening.

Murdeshwar Train Schedule Adjusted for Passenger Convenience

Kundapur: Responding to the persistent appeals of passengers, the railway department has taken steps to address the schedule delay of the extended Bengaluru– Mysore – Mangaluru – Murdeshwar train. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has issued directives for the timetable to be adjusted, ensuring that the train arrives at its destination one hour earlier than previously scheduled.

The development comes following the submission of a request by Kodagu-Mysore MP Pratapsinha on behalf of the Kundapur Railway Passenger Welfare Committee. The committee had expressed concerns over the train’s punctuality and requested a revision of its timetable.

These measures reflect the commitment of the railway authorities to enhance the efficiency and convenience of train services in the region, catering to the needs and preferences of passengers.
