Vandita Sharma takes charge as Karnataka’s chief secretary

Bengaluru: Senior IAS officer Vandita Sharma on Tuesday assumed charge as the chief secretary of Karnataka.

She took over the charge post-retirement of current chief secretary P Ravikumar on May 31.‎ Sharma will be in office till November 2023.

Vandita Sharma, a  1986-batch IAS officer, will be the fourth woman to be the Chief Secretary of the Karnataka government. Theresa Bhattacharya, Malati Das, and Ratna Prabha were the other woman officers to hold the position.‎

Sharma who hails from Punjab holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology and a post-graduate degree in English.
