Veerashaiva seers cautions of holding protests against state government

Bengaluru: 57 seers from the Veerashaiva community had a meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today and submitted a memorandum asking him to decline the reports on granting minority religious status to the Lingayath faith.

They also warned Chief Minister if the governemnet accepts the recommendations from the expert committee they will stage an intense protest against the Congress led state government.

The delegation of seer which was led by Chandrashekhar Shivacharya Swami of Kashi Peetha demanded Siddarmaiah to declare Veerashaiva-Lingayat as minority religion if the government wants Veerashaiva-Lingayat faith’s welfare.
