Vented dam on River Netravathi

Mangaluru: CM Siddaramaiah in the latest budget announcement mentioned that the construction of a vented dam-cum-bridge across the Netravathi between Harekala and Adyarkatte to provide drinking water to areas on the southern bank of the river will be ready soon.
Rs.174 crore has been sanctioned for the project which will be taken up under Paschima Vahini scheme to build vented dams across rivers in the west to not only to provide drinking water but also to improve groundwater table.
The dam will be built about 5 km downstream the Thumbe Vented Dam that supplies water to the city.
