Venue for Tippu Jayanthi celebration changed

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar on Monday, said that the venue for Tipu Jayanthi celebration has been changed from Vindhana Soudha Banquet hall to Ravindra Kalakshetra in order to maintain law and order.

Addressing the press, after attending a meeting with regard to Tipu Jayanthi celebration he said that the BJP and saffron outfits have been trying to disturb communal harmony on Tipu Jayanti. Any attempt to disrupt law and order will be dealt with an iron hand. He further added that severe action will be taken against those who post derogatory message on social media regarding Tippu Jayanthi.

The Tipu Jayanathi celebration would take place without any disturbance, irrespective of protests, he said.

The birth anniversary celebrations of Tipu Sultan, the 18th-century ruler of the princely state of Mysore, has been held on November 10 by the state government since 2016.
