Veteran actor Umesh Hegde passes away at 71 due to cardiac arrest

Bengaluru: Veteran Kannada theatre artist, television, and movie actor, Umesh Hegde passed away early in the morning on Monday, October 11. He was 71.

According to reports, the actor suffered a massive heart attack at around 7.45 PM on October 10. Although he was immediately rushed to the hospital, the actor did not respond to treatment and breathed his last today early morning.

His family is yet to share the details about his funeral rites. However, sources said that his body is likely to be kept at his residence for his near and dear ones can pay their last respects.

Umesh Hegde had been very active in the Kannada entertainment industry. During the initial years of his career, he had been a theatre artist.  Later, he acted both on television and in movies.

The sudden demise of the veteran actor has shocked the entire Kannada film industry. Condolences poured in from all quarters, expressing shock over his sudden passing.
