Mangaluru, Udupi: In an official release, the divisional secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Sharan Pumpwell has appealed to the State government to provide exemptions in curfew for religious activities in the twin districts.
“Already many religious programs such as Jatra, Nema Kola, Brahmakalasa, and Yakshagana performances have been scheduled by many temples and other religious institutions in the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. The newly ordered curfew will hamper the conduct of these events. We, therefore, appeal to the State government to exempt them from the Corona Curfew,” the release read.
The State government has implemented a curfew from 10 am to 5 pm from April 10 to contain the spread of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
