Thiruvananthapuram: Vice-president Venkaiah Naidu will arrive here on February 16 on a one-day visit. Naidu would deliver the Chithira Thirunal Memorial lecture at a function to be held at Kannakakunnu palace, official sources said.
Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma was the last king of the erstwhile princely state of Travancore. He is known for initiating various people-friendly measures during his reign including the historic temple entry proclamation.
The proclamation allowed the entry of devotees cutting across caste lines into temples including the famed Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple here in the erstwhile Travancore region.
