Bengaluru: As the biennial elections to the Karnataka Legislative Council approach, another video of a purported conversation between Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar about honouring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel has gone viral on social media.
On November 23, former minister and BJP leader M P Renukacharya tweeted a video of the alleged conversation on his official Twitter handle.

The video shows former CM Siddaramaiah and KPCC president Shivakumar whispering to each other. The conversation was allegedly captured on October 31 at a function organized on the occasion of Indira Gandhi’s death anniversary and Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary.
In the video, Siddaramaiah tells Shivakumar, in a hushed voice, to put up a photo of Vallabahbhai Patel. In reply, Shivakumar allegedly says that Congress does not have a tradition of placing Sardar Patel’s photograph. When Siddaramiah warns that BJP might take advantage of it, Shivakumar is shown directing party workers to display a photo of Patel next to Indira Gandhi’s photo.
The audio and video of the conversation went viral. Renukacharya criticized that Congress has no respect for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. “Congress respects Patel for fear of BJP,” he said in the tweet.
