Video on a child in a life or death situation goes viral

- Incident occurred in a swimming pool at a resort in Parladka
Kumbra: A boy who was along with his family visiting Big Rose resort at Parladka near here ventured into the swimming pool and consequently got snared by a life or death situation. The incident occurred four days back and video captured of the incident has gone viral on social media. Those who were at the location were successful in rescuing the kid.
On the afternoon of Dec 26th, a function of a family from Salmara in Puttur had taken place in this resort. After the party had concluded and most the guest had left, 5 boys who were with their guardians got down into the swimming pool. Seeing this, an eight-year-old boy also got into the swimming pool. However, his guardians failed to see this.
Later, the child in the water bobbed in and out of the water three times with it arms flailing in the air seeking help. This was seen by the mother of the drowning child who in turn raised the alarm and immediately a relative dived into the water and rescued the child from the swimming pool. The child was provided first aid and then taken to a hospital. His condition is stable with no threat to his life.
They ventured into the water without permission
Those who had come for the programme got down into the swimming pool. To get into the swimming pool, a ticket must be procured. Without our knowledge, the guardians let the kids get into the swimming pool. Our staff maintain an eye on those who come for swimming as a safety measure. We saw the incident through footage recorded on the CCTV camera. The kid is safe, said Majeed, Big Rose Manager.
