Vijayapura: In a shocking incident, a 6-year-old girl was brutally murdered by a man in Vijayapura for accidentally breaking dentures.

The accused was identified as Babugouda Biradar (24) who is a farmer and is a neighbour of the deceased. He allegedly killed the minor girl around two months ago and was arrested on Monday, August 16.

The body of the minor girl was recovered on August 9 from a stream at Bolegaon village within the limits of the Horti police station.

It is said that the accused often argued over the dentures that were accidentally broken by the girl. He was upset as his mother was struggling to consume food without the dentures.

The accused took the girl to the nearby stream, tied her hands and legs, thrashed her and drowned her in the stream.

Police officials have arrested the accused and further investigations are underway.
