Vijayapura: An anonymous person disguised as Booth Level Agent (BLA) has allegedly collected electoral information using the voters’ list in Ward No. 30 on Wednesday, November 30 noon.
As the Congress leaders received the information, they rushed to the spot and held the person.
Upon asking who he was and what was he up to, he said that his name was Mahantesh and was working in a private firm. But his response is said to be suspicious.
Immediately, all the documents were confiscated from the person by the supporters of Congress leader Abdul Hameed Mushrif.
Meanwhile, the person has contacted a close aide of the sitting MLA and informed him about being caught. Hence, the Congress leader and close aide of Mushrif, Irfan Sheik has doubted the involvement of the sitting MLA.
Later, the person was handed over to Tahsildar Siddaraya Bosagi.
Bosagi said, “There are chances that to keep in touch with the BLA, political parties might have appointed an agent. This might be the case. We will investigate the matter”.
Speaking to the media, Mushraif alleged, “We suspect of names from voters list being deleted from the Muslim dominated areas of the city or a plan of shifting the voters’ list to Nagathan reserved constituency by using youths like the one who is caught today”.
