Vijayapura: BSF jawan martyred due to short circuit in JK border

Vijayapura: A 29-year-old Indian Border Security Force (BSF) soldier was killed in a short circuit in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, August 30 evening.

The deceased is identified as Shivananda Jagannath Badigera (29), a resident of Basarakoda village in Muddebihal taluk of the Vijayapura district. He was working in the electric division of the Jammu and Kashmir Border Security Force.

The Senior BSF officials informed his family that the tragedy occurred while working at BSF house in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

Shivananda had joined the BSF nine years ago and he was married last year. He is survived by his wife, father, mother, three brothers, and sister. Shivananda’s elder brother is also serving as a soldier in the Indian army.
