A farmer in Vijayapura faced a significant financial loss after giving his ATM card to an unknown person for assistance at a Karnataka Bank ATM on Old Canara Bank Road.

Bhatrenahalli Rajanna sought help from the stranger when he encountered difficulties withdrawing money from the ATM. However, the unknown person deceitfully withdrew Rs. 10,000 from Rajanna’s account before handing back a different ATM card and swiftly departing.

Realizing the fraud, Rajanna promptly reported the incident to the police. In response, the police took swift action, suspending the compromised ATM card and uncovering that gold worth Rs. 40,500 had been transacted fraudulently.
