Vijayapura: The mortal remains of Havaldar Raju Karjagi, a valiant soldier from Tikota district who passed away in Jammu, arrived in his hometown on Wednesday morning, evoking an outpouring of grief.
As the body of Havaldar Raju Karjagi reached his hometown, family members and locals were visibly emotional. His body was placed at Wade Maidan in Tikota town for public viewing, where arrangements were made for the public to pay their last respects in an orderly manner.
Thousands of people from around Tikota gathered to pay their respects to the fallen soldier. Among them were political leaders and dignitaries who honored Havaldar Raju Karjagi by placing flowers on his body.
Following the public viewing, preparations were underway for the soldier’s funeral at the government primary health center in Tikota town.
District Collector Bhubalan briefed the media, confirming the death of Havaldar Raju Girimalla Karjagi, who served with the Indian Army’s National Rifles Battalion based in Tikota, Vijayapur district. The collector mentioned that the soldier’s remains arrived via Hyderabad but could not provide further details, including the exact cause of death.
Havaldar Raju Karjagi was a dedicated member of the Mahar Regiment-13 of the 51st unit of Indian Rifles and was on duty in Jammu and Kashmir at the time of his death. The precise circumstances surrounding his death remain undisclosed.
The town of Tikota and the entire district of Vijayapura mourn the loss of a brave soldier who served his country with honor and dedication.
