Vijayapura: A part of the heritage building here Gol Gumbaz has collapsed.
Negligence and lack of maintenance by the Archaeological Survey of India are being blamed for the incident.
The monument with a distinctive design that took over thirty years to build was constructed under the rule of Mohammed Adil Shah in 1626.
In 2026, the monument will be four centuries old.
Anything that is spoken inside the seven-storey heritage monument, standing without any pillar or structural support, echoes seven times.
Its more unique feature is the ‘whisper gallery.’ Anything spoken or even whispered anywhere in the gallery can be heard everywhere on the gallery.
