Vijayapura: Digging works for repairing drinking water pipeline in the town has toppled a huge tree that damaged nearby houses and disrupted vehicular traffic on the road.
The water supply board had dug along the CC Road here for repairing the water pipeline underneath. The digging cut off the roots of the tree weakening it and eventually causing it to fall.
The road where the incident took place is densely populated, however, the treefall occurred in the night causing no damage to life.
Residents of the house on whom the tree fell said that the city water supply board not only damaged the newly built road but also did not supervise when the digging work was being carried out, causing this incident.
