Vijayapura: Woman police sub inspector succumbs to COVID-19

Vijayapura: An incident of the death of an on-duty woman police sub-inspector due to COVID-19 was reported from here on Monday.

Sulochana Bajantri from the Adarsh ​​Nagar police station here was on election duty during the Belgaum Lok Sabha byelection and was ill after returning from duty.

On Monday morning she started having breathing problems and was admitted to a private hospital where she died after not responding to the treatment.

Bajantri is survived by her husband, a son and a daughter.

The Director-General of Police Praveen Sood tweeted on Bajantri’s death.
