Vijayapura: Nalatwada villagers gave a traditional welcome and a lavish reception to an Indian Army soldier who returned to the village after completing a long career.
The soldier, Raghavendra Sangappa Kshatri, was stopped at the entrance of the village and greeted by showers of flowers and a traditional ceremony conducted by women.
Kshatri, a resident of Desammukh Colony in the village, was then taken in a grand procession around the village.
Kshatri also garlanded a statue of former minister D Jagadevarao Deshmukh.
