Villagers protest after tusker attacks farmer

Mysuru: Villagers of Gurupuru in Hunsur taluk staged a protest blocking Hunsur-HD Kote road after a farmer was attacked and injured by a wild tusker.
The victim, Raghavendra was on a roadside when a wild tusker attacked him. He has sustained injuries in groin and chest region and is undergoing treatment at Hunsur taluk hospital.
Following the incident, the irked villagers said that man-animal conflict has become a regular concern in the region and the authorities of the forest department are not bothered to solve the problem.
Villagers also alleged that the officers do not respond to their grievances.
