Vinay Kulkarni still unreleased as bail order doesn’t reach jail

Belagavi: Former minister Vinay Kulkarni, who is lodged in Hindalaga jail here in the murder case of Dharwad zilla panchayat member Yogeesh Gowda, was granted bail but was not released on Thursday as the court order is likely to reach the jail at 10 am on August 20.

The release was postponed to Friday as Hindalaga jail did not receive the e-mail of the court order. The jail staff waited till 6 pm for the e-mail to arrive.

Vinay Kulkarni was arrested by CBI officials and was remanded to Hindalaga jail on 5 November 2020.

Vinay, who has been in jail for 9 months, had applied for bail many times.
