Vinayabhivandane: Nitte University Chancellor, Vinaya Hegde honored

In a noteworthy celebration, N. Vinaya Hegde, the Chancellor of Nitte University and President of Nitte Education Trust, was honored in Vinayabhivandane programme held in Shirva. The felicitation ceremony was conducted by the Shirva Vidyavardhaka Sangh, presided over by Vidyavardhaka Sangh President and Kapu MLA, Suresh P. Shetty Gurme, at the Vidyavardhaka campus on the 20th.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of retired Supreme Court Justice N. Santhosh Hegde as the chief guest, who emphasized the importance of health and education, especially in rural areas. He commended the dedication of educational institutions and a rural health center to the public and expressed society’s responsibility to recognize and honor those who have dedicated themselves to these causes.

During the event, Suresh P. Shetty Gurme delivered a congratulatory speech, highlighting the significance of living with social dignity and praising Vinaya Hegde’s extraordinary achievements in various fields. Vinaya Hegde, who received the award, expressed his gratitude and emphasized the importance of education and repaying the debt of one’s parents.

The felicitation also featured contributions from Nitte VV Vice-Chancellor Dr. M. Shantaram Shetty, Shirva Gr. Pt. President Savita Rajesh, MSRS College Mumbai Alumni Association President Uday Sundar Shetty, and other distinguished guests.

N. Vinaya Hegde’s six-decade journey of dedicated service across social, economic, educational, and health sectors culminated in this esteemed recognition.

Vidyavardhaka Sangh Secretary V. Subbaiah Hegde, Treasurer Dinesh Shetty, and other dignitaries, educational institutions, alumni associations, and well-wishers were also present at the event.

In addition to the award ceremony, the inauguration of the Justice K.S. Hegde Rural Health Center was a notable highlight. This center, with a construction and maintenance cost of about Rs. 2 crores, was established by Nitte Pariganita University on behalf of the Shirva Vidyavardhaka Campus. The inauguration was conducted by retired Supreme Court of India Justice N. Santhosh Hegde, while the event was presided over by N. Vinaya Hegde, the Chancellor of Nitte University.
