Bengaluru: In a significant development, the Bengaluru 24th ACMM Court has approved the transfer of actor Darshan to the Ballari jail after photos and videos revealing his VIP treatment inside the Parappana Agrahara Jail went vial. Along with Darshan, nine other accused in the Renukaswamy murder case have also been shifted to different jails across the state.
The controversy erupted after photos of Darshan, who is an accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, surfaced, showing him in the company of notorious rowdy-sheeter Wilson Garden Naga and others. The images showed Darshan sitting comfortably on a chair, holding a mug in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Additionally, videos of Darshan engaging in video calls with his friends have also surfaced, leading to his transfer.
In response to the exposure of this preferential treatment, Darshan has been transferred to the Ballari jail, while the other accused have been relocated to various jails across the state.
10 including Darshan to be transferred
Out of the 17 accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, Pavithra Gowda, Anukumar, and Deepak will remain in Parappana Agrahara, while four others have already been moved to Tumakuru jail.
The remaining accused, including Pavan, Nandish, and Raghavendra, have been transferred to Mysuru Jail, Pradosh to Belagavi, Jagadish and Lakshman to Shivamogga, Vinay to Vijayapura, Dhanraj to Dharwad, and Nagaraj to Kalaburagi jail.
The Ballari jail, with its nine barracks, is equipped with video conferencing facilities for court proceedings and is monitored by CCTV cameras. It has been reported that Darshan will be housed in a cell with an attached bathroom.
Distance from Family and Close Associates:
While Darshan was in the Bengaluru Central Jail, his wife, son, brother, and other family members visited him regularly. Friends and close associates also frequently visited the jail to check on his well-being. However, with his transfer to Ballari, it will be more challenging for his family and friends to visit him.
