Madikeri: Madikeri City police have arrested two persons in connection with the purported viral audio of a conspiracy to explode petrol bombs.

An elected representative from the city and a person from Bettageri have been taken into custody, police sources said.

A few days ago an audio clip of a phone conversation between two persons had gone viral. In the audio, the elected representative was purportedly heard discussing hurling petrol bombs to create fear in society.

Based on a complaint filed by Seshappa, the two accused were taken into custody by the city police on Saturday, sources said.

As the news of the arrests spread, activists of pro-Hindu organizations gathered in front of the city police station and expressed their anguish against the accused.
