Viral Puttur gang rape video: Three more arrested

Puttur: Three more persons have been arrested by the police in connection to the spreading the video clip of the gang rape of a college student through social websites.

The arrested are identified as Nazeer, residing near Bellare, who is the president of the gram panchayat there, Shaukat Ali and Jabir, both from the town.

The accused have been produced in the court and were remanded to judicial custody for two weeks on Friday July 5. With this, the number of people arrested in the case has risen to 11.

Meanwhile, the bail pleas put forth by Muraleedhar, Chandrashekhar Mayya, Shreyan S, Poovappa K, Pawan Kumar D, Mohit P G, Dhyan A N, and Adwit Kumar Naik has been adjourned by the court to Saturday. They were arrested on Wednesday in connection to the crime and are in judicial custody.
