Viral video of bride breaking vidaai stereotype

A video of a stereotype-breaking vidaai ritual has gone viral on the internet. Kolkata’s Sneha Singhi and Saugat Upadhaya got married last month.

On the wedding day, when the bride and groom leave the girl’s house, Sneha (bride) gets into the driving seat of a car with Saugat beside her. People help her with her heavy lehnga and someone is heard saying, “Seat upar kar le,” to which Saugat responds, “Daddy she will easily manage.”

Sneha is seen speeding away to her in-law’s house, waving at everyone.

Sneha who shared the clip on Instagram wrote, “This really was fun.” She even dedicated the video to “fearless, strong and inspiring women,”

The reel has gone viral with over 3.2 million views, getting lots of feedback from netizens.
