Viral video of police abuse during SDPI event: Six more arrested

Mangaluru: Police have nabbed six persons for alleged abuse of police personnel during SDPI event taking the tally of total arrests to 15 in the case.

On May 27, miscreants had tried to run over a police constable, on-duty at a check post in Koddekkal-Kannur during the SDPI program organized at Dr. Shyam Prasad Shetty ground. They even hurled abuses at the cops and a video of the same went viral on social media.

The arrested are identified as Safwan (26), Abdul Salam (23), Mohammed Sahil (23), Mohammed Falah (20) — all residents of Gurpur; Mohammed Hunaiz (23) from Suralpady and Abdul Latif (31) from Inoli.

The video of the youth abusing the police was recorded by Safwan.
