Vishwa Bantara Sammelana 2023 begins with grand procession

Udupi: The two-day Vishwa Bantara Sammelana 2023 (World Bunts Conference), organized by the Federation of World Bunts Associations (R),  began with a grand procession on Saturday.

The procession began from Board High School to Ajjarakad ground in Udupi. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed spiritual leaders and prominent figures.

Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Puttige Matha and Santhosh Bharati Swamiji of Barkur Sansthan graced the occasion, along with distinguished personalities including Kateel Lakshmi Narayan Asranna, President of Federation of World Bunts Associations Aikala Harish Shetty, Vice President Karnire Vishwanath Shetty, General Secretary Jayakar Shetty Indrali, Purushotham P Shetty, and Patla Satish Shetty.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of lamps and the symbolic breaking of coconuts, signifying auspicious beginnings.

A vibrant procession followed thereafter featuring a rich display of cultural elements, including ‘Keelukudure’, drum performances, tiger dances, and musical accompaniments by a band. The participants donned striking Yakshagana costumes, adding a colorful dimension to the festivities.

The event showcased the cultural diversity of various Banta Sanghas. The distinctive tricolor dress of Ullal Banta Sangh, Gurpur Sangha’s resplendent soldier attire, Belman Sangha’s Team India jerseys, and Shirva team’s engaging agricultural display garnered significant attention.

The popularity of the event extended beyond the coastal regions, as Bunta Sanghas from Tirthahalli, Chikkamagaluru, Kalasa, Shivamogga, Madikeri, Hubli, Mysuru, Bengaluru, Goa, and Mumbai came together in a spirit of camaraderie and celebration.
