BJP leader Vshwanath has spoken the truth. As many BJP leaders believe in Shringeri Sri, let them ask him about Tippu Sultan, said Congress leader, C M Ibrahim
Speaking on the issue, Ibrahim said, “ How did Tippu behave in Nanjanagudu temple. The emerald given by Tippu Sultan is still being worshipped in the temple. 1000s of brahmin devotees were being served food in the temple using the money from Tippu’s treasures”
He further stated, “There is no need to politicize Tippu. There are bad people in all religion. Those who have a good heart will see Tippu Sultan as a good man but those who suffer from ‘caste virus’ will hate him”
“Vishwanath is from Mysore, he wrote several books and knows history. I don’t mind that he is an opposition leader, Vishwanath must be a minister. Also, Suresh Kumar is my jail mate. I have immense respect for him. He is now being pressurised by leaders to remove Tippu sultan’s chapter from textbooks,” he added
