Udupi: Minister for Ports, Fisheries and Inland Water Transport S Angara on Tuesday said that the draft Vision Plan 2021-31 is being readied for integrated development of tourism in the Udupi district.
Addressing the Republic Day events in the district here, Angara informed that the district administration has identified more than 100 spots in the district for tourism and the State government has given Udupi district priority in its Tourism Policy 2021-25.
The minister then listed all the development works planned in the district such as the development of the seashore between Maravanthe and Trasi at a cost of Rs 5 crore, development of the Parashurama Theme Park in Karkala taluk at a cost of Rs 2 crore and the development of Udupi’s Bhujanga Park at a cost of ₹ 1 crore.
He added that the government has also sanctioned five new homestays and four boathouses in the district.
“More than 4,000 health workers have been inoculated against COVID-19 in the district till last January 23. A total of 22,103 health workers from the government as well as private sectors will be vaccinated in the first phase,” Angara said in his address.
