Kundapura: South Western Railway has announced that the Bengaluru-Karwar (06211/12) morning train, which was partially cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will resume with new Vistadome compartments from August 16.

Konkan Railway also has agreed to the service.

Presently Vistadome compartments are attached with the Yeshwantpur-Mangaluru train which was a disappointment to the travellers from Kundapur and Karwar.

In this regard, Kundapura and Uttara Kannada Railway Prayanikara Hitarakshana Samiti appealed to Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje to extend the train’s services up to Karwar.

Karandlaje met the Union Railway Minister and requested him to resume the Karwar-Bengaluru day train. The Minister responded to the request and asked the Railways to start the train along with the Vistadome compartments.

A reception ceremony will be held at the Kundapura railway station for the Vistadome train on August 16.
