Vitla: The investigation into the robbery at Sulaiman Haji’s residence in Bolanthoor, where cash was looted by a gang posing as ED officials, has intensified. However, officials have not yet reported any significant breakthroughs.
There is also no information on the Ertiga car used by the robbers. Police are probing whether the culprits have fled abroad.
“We have not uncovered any substantial leads yet. Speculations are rife, but we are pursuing all possible angles. Updates will be provided as soon as there is progress,” said SP Yathish N.
Police Team Returns from Kerala
Meanwhile, a team of police officers, who had been investigating in Kerala for the past few days, has returned to the district. It is gathered that a meeting was held at the Bantwal DySP office to plan the next phase of the investigation.
SP Yathish N. visited the Bantwal DySP office on January 8 and held discussions with DySP S. Vijayaprasad and other members of the investigation team, including inspectors and PSIs. The technical analysis of the information gathered from Kerala is reportedly underway.
The returning team might have gathered key information but has maintained confidentiality to prevent any advantage to the culprits. Police remain optimistic about solving the case soon, indicating possible progress in the investigation.
Ramanath Rai’s Visit
Former Minister B. Ramanath Rai visited Sulaiman Haji’s residence to gather details from the family. He also contacted the state home minister, the Western Range IGP, and the SP to urge swift action in apprehending the culprits.
