Vitla: To prevent unnecessary travel during lockdown relaxation, police to increase checkposts

Team Udayavani, May 5, 2021, 5:00 PM IST

Vitla: To prevent overcrowding from those unnecessarily coming into the town’s market during the period when the lockdown is relaxed, the police here have decided to set up new checkposts in the town’s major junctions.

Checkpost will be set up near Meginapete, the government bus stand on Kasargod Road, Bobbekeri on Mangaluru Road and Nada Kacheri on Salethur Road.

People entering the town will have to necessarily show their Aadhar cards at the checkposts.

Those who are coming from areas where there are no markets to buy essential items will be allowed entry into the town and those who come from areas with markets for essential items will have their vehicles seized and cases registered against them.
