Vitla: Unidentified vehicle uproots electric poles, flees

Vitla: An unidentified vehicle rammed into electric poles and escaped from the spot at Kelinja Patrathota on Vitla-Mangaluru road on Saturday morning.

The unidentified vehicle is suspected to have been moving toward Mangaluru from Vitla when it hit the electric poles. Three electric poles were found uprooted at the spot.

Further, it is suspected that it may have been a heavy vehicle, possibly a lorry carrying soil and stones.

Meanwhile, MESCOM Vitla branch officer Satish has lodged a complaint at the Vitla police station in this regard. The damages in the incident are estimated to be around Rs 70,000.
