Vittal: Forged signature of doctor for license renewal lands youth behind bars

Vittal police arrested a 26-year-old youth on charges of forging the signature and stamp of a government doctor on a fitness certificate for purpose of renewal of driving license.
The arrested Sheik Firoz Adam’s father runs a driving school. According to the police a person named Isbu had applied for renewal of his driving license through the driving school.
As it is mandatory to submit the fitness certificate during the process, Adam forged the same.
The discrepancy came to light when the RTO inspector noticed a difference in the signature of the doctor from the one on the fitness certificate submitted by the agency and contacted him for re-examining the fitness certificate.
After coming to know of the forgery the doctor filed a complaint at Vittal police station.
Adam was produced before the court which remanded him to judicial custody.
