Vittla Police arrest two thieves involved in multiple robberies

Vittla Police have arrested two persons suspected of multiple thefts in the Vittla, Puttur, and surrounding areas.
The suspects, identified as Mohammad Riaz (38) of Dharmangar, Boliyar, and Mohammad Intiyaz (38) from Ullal’s Old Fort locality, are alleged to have participated in house break-ins in Mittur and Kodaje under the jurisdiction of Vittla Police Station, as well as thefts at schools and anganwadis in the Puttur City Police limits.
Mohammad Riaz reportedly has previous theft cases filed against him in Kumbale and Konaje Police Station.
During the investigation, the police seized property valued at approximately Rs 2.85 lakh, which included a gas cylinder and household items worth Rs 1.35 lakh. An autorickshaw, allegedly used in the thefts and valued at around Rs 1.5 lakh, was also confiscated.
The arrested suspects are now in police custody for further investigation.
